Pirelli tyres have brought forward the launch of a new version of its P7 Cinturato tyre which offers high performance with enhanced eco-credentials.
The Italian tyres maker was planning to introduce the new tyre in 2010, but it has jumped the gun a year in light of the new EU tyres regulations.
The new tyre features a 20 per cent reduction in rolling resistance which, according to Pirelli’s calculations, results in a 4 per cent reduction in fuel consumption.
Pirelli is capitalising on the increasing awareness of eco-friendly tyres due to the new regulation which is progressing through the EU and will raise the bar in terms of rolling resistance, noise pollution and wet-braking performance.
These are all areas that Pirellis research and development teams have improved upon in the development of the new P7 Cinturato.
It is regarded as a proactive market impetus, offering tyre buyers high performance and quality, matched with fuel savings and ecological benefits.
