Nexen is teaming up with Premier League football clubs in an active push to promote its tyres and boost sales in England.
Its brand will now feature prominently on the LED advertising signboards at the home stadiums of Everton FC, Tottenham Hotspur FC, Southampton FC and West Ham United during the 2014/2015 season.
The English Premier League is one of the best, most-watched football leagues in the world and, with international footballers featuring prominently in it, the league is riding a wave of interest from global fans.
Nexen tyres will also have advertising signboards at the stadiums of football clubs in the three other largest football leagues in Europe – Germany, Spain and Italy.
Lee Byungwoo, the Vice President and Head of Nexen tyre sales, commented: “As we increase our sales and supply of tyres to European car manufacturers with every year, we have signed a contract with 10 European football clubs as part of our marketing strategies. We will continue to improve our brand awareness through active marketing campaigns.”
Starting with the Fiat 500L last year, Nexen has supplied OE tyres to European vehicles, including the Volkswagen Polo, Skoda Octavia and Rapid, and the Seat Ibiza this year, as well as two models from Dacia, which is part of the Renault Group.
