The highly-coveted, jaw-droppingly pretty Nissan GT-R, which has just purred onto the UK roads, has scorched another record at the mighty Nurburgring.
Sporting standard Dunlop tyres, the twin-turbocharged supercar has just set another lap record at what is widely considered the toughest and most demanding purpose-built race track in the world.
Dunlop tyres must be over the moon to have been awarded the OE contract for the eagerly-anticipated new GT-R and the hype surrounding the car just keeps getting better.
The Japanese spec, factory-issue 2009 R35 GT-R, running on Dunlop tyres with RAYS forged alloy wheels (V spec equipment) recorded a blistering best lap of 7:27.56.
Only eight cars have ever gone faster – and they cost quite a bit more than this performance coupe!
But Nissan aren’t satisfied they have seen the cars best yet and are reported to be planning a few more trips round the track – nicknamed The Green Hell by Jackie Stewart – over the next few days.
