New boss at Goodyear tyres UK plant

Goodyear Dunlop tyres has appointed its third new managing director to steer its UK and Ireland operation in six years.

George Rietbergen, currently general manager of the tyres manufacturers Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg sector, will be working out of Birmingham.

He is taking over from Mark Brickhill, who joined Goodyear Dunlop from Procter and Gamble in 2006 and has been promoted to Vice-President Consumer Business Unit EU and will move to the company’s Brussels office.

Brickhill will continue to report to Arthur De Bok, President EMEA, who said: “Since joining the company, Mark has provided significant leadership in the reorganisation of the UK business.

“This experience as well as his strong marketing background will be beneficial in the new role as we go through significant market changes”

Rietbergen joined Goodyear Dunlop from KLM Royal Dutch Airlines as Director, E-Business in 2001. In 2003 he was promoted to Retail Director, responsible for over 1800 franchised stores in Europe. In 2005, he was appointed General Manager for the BeNeLux cluster.
