While the top eight ranking companies in the 2012 global tyres manufacturers league remain the same, it is interesting to note the first sign of movement comes from Maxxis International.
With Bridgestone and Michelin tyres dominating first and second place, respectively, the Taiwan company has leap-frogged over Cooper and advanced to ninth place on the 2012 Global Tire Company Rankings.
It is a move in the right director for Maxxis, which has set itself the goal of becoming one of the world’s top tyre companies.
Tire Business based Maxxis’ new, higher ranking on global sales of US$4.2 billion in 2011. In previous years, the company has placed tenth on the list.
Maxxis has pursued a consistent strategy over the past few years, emphasising service and quality throughout its worldwide operations since the introduction of the Maxxis Triple 3 philosophy in 2010.
