Maxiss tyres used for Fast Ford performance tests
When Fast Ford magazine needed tyres to carry out two performance tests, they turned to the Maxxis MA-Z1.
The September issue of the magazine selected the tyres for its reports into how different tyre pressure settings affect a car’s handling characteristics and the performance benefits that can be gained from fitting lightweight alloy wheels.
Derek McMartin, Maxxis International UK’s managing director, said: “Fast Ford is the UK’s top Ford tuning magazine and is highly influential in reaching an important performance enthusiast audience, so we are delighted with the magazine’s very positive feedback on the MA-Z1 from these two important tests.”
The magazine took racing driver Dan Rowbottom and his Fiesta ST to Bruntingthorpe to carry out the tests and it chose the Maxxis MA-Z1s “because of their excellent performance in wet and dry conditions.”
Rowbottom said they gave “awesome grip, especially when warmed up and scrubbed in” along with consistent performance throughout the tests. With the original tyres he was able to get the car sideways with lift-off oversteer, but with the MA-Z1s the rear grip levels were vastly improved and this was no longer possible.
