Kumho tyres are celebrating excellent reviews in tyres tests held by two leading German auto magazines.
Pitted against eight other top tyres brands, including Michelin, Continental, Pirelli and Dunlop, the Korean tyres manufacturer Kumho tied with Michelin for second place overall in Autozeitung magazine.
They received a ‘very recommendable’ assessment following tests under challenging driving conditions, including aquaplaning, braking and slalom.
Test editors said the Kumho Ecsta HM KH31 demonstrated “superbly balanced” performance in both wet and dry criteria. The magazine editors also concluded that the Kumho tyre was “best” in braking, and showed fast handling.
And there was more good news to come when Kumho tyres Road Venture MP KL71 was singled out for its ‘excellent performance and design’ and selected ‘Off Road Tyre 2009’ by the editorial staff at German 4×4 magazine Off Road.
NW Cho, senior researcher of Kumho Tyres R&D Centre, said: ‘European automotive magazines from Germany, Great Britain and Sweden hold tests several times a year to compare and rank performance of recommendable tyres.
‘The tyre test results influence the purchasing decisions of European consumers, as they are an official recognition of performance and quality.’
