Formula One champion Jenson Button will be looking for the perfect balance when it comes to his tyres strategy at this weekend’s Chinese Grand Prix.
The McLaren driver swept to victory at the Australian Grand Prix last month and when he took a big risk and changed his tyres early.
However, the decision to pit early again in Malaysia two weeks ago saw him struggle and he finished eighth.
The British driver said: “I have chosen my direction in the last two races of stopping early and doing 40-50 laps on one set of tyres. I think it works sometimes but you have to be careful as well.
“You need to look after your tyres but again you cannot be too careful, so it is having a balance and I think I am raising my aggressiveness with the tyre while some people are coming back down with their aggressiveness.”
