Goodyear Bricks Sold For Charity
The famous Goodyear chimney, for so long an iconic landmark in Wolverhampton, was demolished last month, and the company are now planning to sell of the tower’s coloured bricks to raise money for cancer care charity MacMillan Nurses.
1,000 people turned out to witness the demolition of the 150 foot tower. Afterwards Goodyear salvaged 350 multi-coloured bricks from the chimney, and these will be offered for sale, with blue bricks costing £2, yellow £5 and the rarer two-tone bricks valued at £10.
