Fancy finding out how you and a mate would compare with the Formula One pit crews when it comes to changing a set of tyres – well now you can find out.
It takes Lewis Hamilton’s team a matter of seconds to change the tyres in a championship race, now Race Retro is challenging amateur teams of two to change the wheel on a racing car against the clock.
The two-strong teams will get the chance to flex their muscles at the event held between the 13th and to the 15th March at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
Entry into the Race Retro Demon Tweeks speed wheel changing contest is free and entrants will test their skills on a classic rally prepared 998 Hillman Imp, last used on the Monte Carlo Classic Challenge.
You’ll have to remove and replace a front and rear wheel from the Imp using the Demon Tweeks supplied aluminium racing jack and speed wheelbrace.
This will be a fun event with live commentary by Steve Parrish taking time off from his busy Moto GP schedule to join in the action at Race Retro and host the live stage, which is perfectly placed by the Retro Racer Café and the Fire Engine Bar.
