Former cabinet minister Hazel Blears’ car has been attacked and the tyres slashed while she was out canvassing for votes.
The vandals slashed two tyres and smashed the windscreen of the Labour MP for Salford’s Citroen Xsara Picasso.
The ex-communities secretary said she did not think that her car had been targeted because of who she was.
The MP recently survived an attempt to deselect her over revelations involving her parliamentary expenses.
Commenting on the damage to her car, Ms Blears told the Manchester Evening News: “This is just the actions of a tiny minority.”
She added: “It’s pathetic.”
Vehicle owners who have suffered the same plight as Ms Blears regularly turn to etyres, the UKs leading online tyre retailer, because it offers a convenient mobile tyre fitting service.
This means the motorists don’t have the added hassle and stress involved in taking their car to a depot to have the tyres repaired or replaced – etyres comes to a location of the owners choice, at home or the workplace.
And because its overheads are low, etyres passes the savings on to customers in the form of cheaper prices – up top 40% less than the leading high street tyre chains.
