Have you fallen victim to Flat Battery Monday? Today was the first day back at work for many motoirists and it is always anticipated to be one of the busiest of the year for car breakdown services.

According to an AA survey of around 16,165 members, a third will have had at least one car standing unused throughout the festive period that will be relied on to spring into action today.

Mark Spowage, AA patrolman of the year, explained: “The first working day back in January is traditionally the busiest day of the year for breakdowns with flat batteries the main culprit.

“The issue is that many cars get left unused for up to a fortnight in often cold conditions, which causes the power output of the battery to drop.”

There are several signs to look out for that indicate when a battery is getting weak and may need replacing, these include a sluggish starter motor when the ignition key is turned and headlights that dim when the engine speed drops to an idle.

A flat battery is one of the most inconvenient car problems motorists can experience, because unless vehicle owners have access to a breakdown service there is no way to get the car to a garage to have it fixed. However, etyres offer a mobile battery fitting service which means customers can have their new battery fitted at their home or work – in short, wherever the car has been stranded.

And etyres highly competitive prices mean customers can save cash by sourcing a new battery that offers the best value for money, rather than having to buy an emergency replacement at any cost. As well as mobile fitting, etyres prices also include disposal of the old battery and VAT, plus all its batteries come with a three year guarantee.
