Dunlop tyres has teamed up with BMW Motorsport to become one of its Technical Partners.
As part of the exclusive, long term partership the company will provide tyres, manufacturerd at Fort Dunlop in Birmingham for the BMW M3 GT2.
Dunlop will apply its decades of experience to the further development of the GT sports car.
It will also supply tyres to BMW customer racing cars, including the BMW M3 GT4.
Mario Theissen, BMW motorsport director, said: “We have already worked closely and extremely successfully with Dunlop when developing the BMW M3 GT2. I am pleased that we can now build on this partnership in the long term.”
Frederic Schilling, Dunlop brand director for Europe, added: “It is a well known fact that BMW builds dynamic, highly-efficient production and racing cars. Therefore, Dunlop brings a great deal of new technologies into the partnership.
“Furthermore, our cooperations also opens new opportunities in the road tyre market where Dunlop and BMW share the same target audience.”
