UK car production slumped by nearly half in December compared with the previous year, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
But car owners are being urged to check their tyres and carry out basic maintenance of their old vehicles to avoid problems down the road.
Not replacing tyres which are worn or damaged could be a false economy in the long run, resulting in accidents, fines and invalidated insurance policies, according to etyres.
Vehicle owners can save money by buying their tyres from etyres, because it is up to 40% cheaper than leading depots.
Etyres customers also save time and hassle by having the tyres fitted for free at a location of their choice, whether it is at home, the office or even the middle of a muddy field.
The SMMT has just announced that nearly 48 percent fewer cars were made in December 2008 compared with the previous year, meaning that in 2008 as a whole car production dropped by almost six percent.
