Bridgestone score with Super Bowl tyres commercials
Bridgestone scored a direct hit with their “Your tyres or your life” commercial aired during the Super Bowl last night.
The tyres company advert featured a post-apocalyptic, Mad Max-style scene where a gang of wasteland bandits set up a road block to steel a motorists beloved Bridgestone’s.
After pulling over the sleek speeding sports car, a sinister looking bad guy demands: “Your Bridgestone tyres or your life!”
The car door opens and a gorgeous blonde, clad in skin-tight black rubber is shoved unceremoniously on to the road.
A mixture of disgust and fury crosses the robbers face, as he curses, “I said life not wife.”
But it was the “Whale of a Tale” commercial that made it into the coveted Top Ten Super Bowl ads chart.
In a nod to caper-movie The Hangover, a trio of guys are seen racing with a killer whale sticking out the back of the truck.
But it scored as a commercial, because it was both funny, while also managing to get across the message about the product.
