Morgan Motor Company choose Avon tyres

Morgan have chosen the Avon ZZ3 range of tyres for
their new Aero 8 model. Standard sizes are 245/40/18 97
Y tyres on the rear and 225/40/1892Y tyres on the front.
The Avon ZZ3 was tested by Morgan and was found to have
just the right blend of handling and roadholding, in
both wet and dry conditions.
The Aero 8 has a 4.4 litre V8 engine producing 325 bhp
and weighs just 1145 kg so the tyres have to cope with
ferocious acceleration and braking. Avon tyres were
selected after exhaustive testing against stiff
competition from tyres by other manufacturers.
Avon are the last major UK producer of car tyres.
Although now owned by Cooper tyres of the US they
continue to produce most of their range of car tyres at
Melksham in Wiltshire. |
