Definition of Bias-belted Tyre

Basically a hybrid between a crossply and radial tyre, a bias belted tyre can probably best be described as a crossply tyre with some radial tyre attributes. It uses a crossply construction casing overlaid with belts set at an angle to the casing (radial belts are perpendicular to the casing). Rarely found on cars in the UK, they are mainly restricted to use on some American vehicles.
