General Tire is the tyre brand of Continental Tyre North America, a subsidiary of Continental Ag. The US tyre maker has four plants in the USA, one in Mexico, as well as operations in South America, Africa and Asia. Since 1991 Continental, General Tire and the Japanese tyre companies Toyo and Yokohama, have cooperated in a joint venture, and have been making commercial vehicle tyres for the North American market. General Tire in Europe is represented in the 4x4 and SUV sector.
