Your Motoring Problems Solved
Question: Please recommend tyres for an 04 Ford
Mondeo 1.8 LX that does about 15,000 miles a
year in a mixture of town and motorway driving.
I'd like reasonably quiet tyres, if possible.
Are Michelin Primacy HP's any good? -- RS from
Teddington, west London
Answer: Michelin's Primacy HP tyre has built up
an excellent reputation since being introduced
last year when it replaced the Pilot Primacy.
Independent testing suggests you can expect up
to 25% better wear and that braking distances
can be improved by up to two metres. Crucially
it achieves this with little noise - a definite
plus when you spend much of your day on the
road.
Your tyre size will depend on which wheels you
opted for when you bought the car. As an idea of
cost, Primacy HP tyres code 205/55 16V would
cost £90.90 each including VAT and mobile
fitting at the online tyre specialist
Etyres (0800 028
9000, www.etyres.co.uk). Check out the exact
sizes for your particular vehicle at the
Michelin website (www.michelin.co.uk). |
