Citroen Xsara Picasso tyres
Thinking of the Spanish artist was an inspirational stroke of marketing genius on Citroen’s part. It launched the rather strangely-shaped and Cubist-looking car that would bear his name in 1999. That name helped to explain and bring credence to the car’s quirky and Vanessa Feltz-like looks. It also helped buyers to forgive the car for them, as the original Xsara Picasso quickly became one of Europe’s most popular MPVs. The name continues today with MPV versions of the C3 and C4 ranges.
Production of the Xsara Picasso ceased in 2008, but it remains a popular used car choice. Few rivals offer such cheap and cheerful five-seat MPV motoring at its roomy and conventional best. The diesel engine version offers really good economy, even if this is a car which doesn’t turn heads and has never knowingly appeared in the pages of Vogue. Additionally, this is a big and tall car sitting on the underpinnings of the much more conventionally-sized Xsara hatchback. As such, it often handles with the aplomb of a supermarket trolley when laden and can be as woeful at corners as Tranmere Rovers football team.
Nexen tyres are a mid-market brand but they are the best-selling choice for fitting to the Xsara Picasso with etyres. Of the premium brands, Michelin’s Energy Saver range, Continental’s PremiumContact and EcoContact tyres and Goodyear’s EfficientGrip range are also popular. A hard-working Xsara Picasso will benefit from the enhanced grip qualities offered by all four of these premium tyres.
As Xsara Picasso models accrue mileage and age, economy tyres are proving popular. Naturally etyres offers a comprehensive choice of these to suit every driving style and pocket. They are all available at competitive prices which include mobile fitting. The Picasso’s most famous fan, Uncle Bryn in BBC comedy Gavin and Stacey, will no doubt appreciate that.
